Two basketball seniors were honored as members of the Alliance League basketball team. Two teams of seven players are selected and voted on by the league coaches each year. For the second year in a row, Becca Morin was honored as a first team member. Becca often dominated games for the Rats, and many other coaches had to game-plan to stop her abilities. Kate DeYoung was honored as a member of the second team. This is Kate’s first time being selected on an all-league team.

BRPS Girls Basketball also graduated two other seniors who helped BRPS win 35 games over the last three years. Sage Winia battled back from an ACL tear during her junior year to play in the majority of the games for the Rats. Sage became the Rats’ best defensive player and was able to knock down several clutch three-pointers during big games. Savannah Zylman was a standout player for the team during her sophomore and junior year. She had an amazing first four games to this season; however, she tore her ACL during the holiday break. The team missed her hustle, defense, rebounding, and tenacious play the rest of the season.

It is now up to other players to carry on the tradition of these four players who have dedicated years to helping BRPS be successful on the court. Juniors Alyssa Allen, Sierra Lynch, Aanya Usmani, and sophomore Harper Gerow will return to the team and are expected to be awesome leaders.
